Our curriculum at Norwich is based on the National Curriculum for England, Wales and Northern Ireland adapted to our international setting and our Values. Students in Primary (Years 1 to 6) access Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 of the National Curriculum.

The Homeroom teachers in Primary teach the following subjects:

  • English (both Reading and Writing, with a focus on Phonics in Year 1)
  • Mathematics
  • Connected Learning (History/Geography/Art/Design Technology),
  • Science
  • ICT
  • PSHE

We are also fortunate to have qualified and experienced specialist teachers who teach the following subjects:

  • Thai
  • Mandarin
  • Music
  • Physical Education.

As well as these subjects being taught across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, mindfulness sessions are also incorporated into the school day, focussing on our school’s core values. Students also have a weekly assembly.

The aims of the National Curriculum for England, Wales and Northern Ireland for Primary students are to enable all young people to become:

  • Successful learners who enjoy learning, make progress and achieve.
  • Confident individuals who are able to live safe, healthy and fulfilling
    lives.
  • Responsible citizens who make a positive contribution to society.
